How do I create a new file/folder in OneDrive for Business?

Once logged in, click on  "new"

How do I navigate back to the OneDrive for Business main screen once I'm done creating/editing my document?

Click on "File" in the upper left side of your screen

Select "Open" and then select "More on OneDrive for Business" underneath your Recent Documents

How can I share files/folders in OneDrive for Business?

First, check the box next to the file/folder you would like to share and then click "Share" on the far right side

A window will pop up asking you to add users you would like to share this file/folder with.You can search users by their UGA e-mail address or by name in the Directory.

NOTE: Choosing to share with EVERYONE will share your file/folder with EVERYONE AT THE UNIVERSITY

Note: The drop-down menu next to "Enter names, email addresses, or 'Everyone'." allows you to change the permissions for the users you are sharing with between "Can edit" (which allows users to view and make changes to your file/folder) and "Can view" (which only allows them to view the file/folder)

 

Where can I see files that have been shared with me?

Once you are logged in to OneDrive for Business, you can find these files by clicking on "Share with Me" on the left side of the page.

How can I sync OneDrive for Business to my computer?

The OneDrive sync tool is only available for Windows; there is currently not a Mac OS X version of the sync app.

  1. Click "sync" in the main OneDrive for Business menu.
  2. If you do not already have the OneDrive for Business app, click on "Get the OneDrive for Business app that's right for me". Otherwise, click on "Sync now"
  3. If you need to download the OneDrive for Business app, you will be taken to the following screen. The 32-bit version of the app is automatically selected for you. If you already have a 64-bit version of Microsoft Office, click on "Advanced" to change the version. If you are not sure what version you have, click on "Which version of Office do I have on my computer?"
  4. Once you have the app installed, and have clicked on "sync now", you will be able to open the link with Microsoft OneDrive for Business
  5. You may be asked to sign in to your account for added security. Simply enter your "myid"@uga.edu address
  6. On the next screen, select "Organizational Account"
  7. You will then be asked to enter your User ID and password. Enter your full UGAMail account and password.
  8. OneDrive for Business should now be ready to sync your files. The default file path is "C:\Users\"your user"". If you would like to change that, click on the blue "Change" link beneath "We'll save the library here:"
    NOTE: Do not select the same folder you have for your current OneDrive account
  9. You can find the files synced over in the folder you chose in the previous step.

 

How can I stop syncing OneDrive for Business to my computer?

You will need to right-click on the OneDrive for Business icon in your system tray (located in the bottom right of your screen) and select "stop syncing a folder"

How can I move my OneDrive files to OneDrive for Business?

The fastest way to do this is to copy any files/folders you have saved in your OneDrive folder into the OneDrive for Business folder on your machine. As long as you have already synced OneDrive for Business with your machine, you can access this folder by opening up "My Computer". The folder should be listed under your favorites (see below). The files may take a while to sync over to the the web client.

Please do not sync OneDrive and OneDrive for Business in the same folder, as this is known to create many issues.

How can I set up OneDrive for Business on my iOS device?

  1. Download OneDrive for Business in the AppStore.
  2. Sign in with your MyID@uga.edu address (the same login credentials used for UGAMail) and your MyID password.
  3. You should now be able to see all your OneDrive for Business files/folders.

How can I set up OneDrive for Business for my Android Device?

  1. Download and Install OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) from the Google Play store.
  2. Once downloaded and installed, launch the OneDrive app on your device. On the welcome screen, swipe left until you reach the below screen. Tap Sign in beneath the large white "Sign up now" button.
  3. Sign in with your MyID@uga.edu address (the same login credentials used for UGAMail) and your MyID password.
  4. If prompted, choose OneDrive for Business.

How do I delete a file/folder in OneDrive for Business?

You can select the file and press the DEL/Delete key on your keyboard.

Alternatively, select the file. Click "manage" in the upper right side and select "Delete" from the drop down menu.

 

 

I accidentally deleted a file, how can I recover it?

  1. Click on "Recycle Bin" on the left side of your screen.
  2. Check the box next to the file you would like to recover
  3. Click "Restore Selection" above the list of deleted files

Note: Your files will remain in your Recycle Bin for 90 days
